We’re Going There…
A 3-part workshop for gently exploring death, fear, and what it means to begin this work.
If talking about death feels overwhelming, taboo, or hard to know where to start, you’re not alone. This workshop offers a safe, structured place to begin.
This is not about having everything figured out. It’s about creating enough safety, language, and support to begin.
Why We Created This
We created this workshop because we believe people deserve a way into these conversations that feels more humane, more grounded, and less intimidating.
So often, death is either avoided entirely or treated as something only professionals can talk about. We want to offer a different experience: one that is calm, clear, and genuinely supportive.
You do not need to arrive ready. You just need to be willing to begin.
What This Is
This 3-session workshop is a practical, digestible introduction to talking about death.
Together, we will explore:
- What happens in your body and nervous system when death comes up.
- How to notice when something feels like too much.
- A simple containment practice to help you stay present.
- What it means to begin this work without rushing yourself.
- A guided Q&A and integration process to help you reflect on what you’ve learned.
This is part psychoeducation, part guided reflection, and part live conversation.
Who It’s For
This workshop is for you if:
- You want to talk about death but don’t know how to begin.
- You notice fear, tension, or shutdown when death comes up.
- You want a gentle, supported way to explore this topic.
- You’re curious about how death conversations affect your mind and body.
- You want to feel more grounded, informed, and clear about your next step.
This workshop may be especially helpful if you’ve been wanting to do this work, but the idea of jumping into it all at once feels too big.
Who It’s Not For
This workshop may not be the right fit if:
- You’re looking for a purely informational lecture with no reflection or participation.
- You want a deep advanced training on end-of-life planning.
- You’re not willing to engage in a supportive group setting.
- You’re looking for a quick fix or one-size-fits-all answer.
This is a beginning. A real one. But still a beginning.
What We’ll Cover
Session 1: Getting Started
We’ll introduce the workshop space, talk about what happens when death enters a conversation, and explore how to notice your own responses. You’ll begin learning how your nervous system may react when death comes up, and why that matters.
Session 2: Containment and Support
We’ll teach a simple containment skill and practice it together. You’ll learn how to recognize when you’re approaching your edge and how to stay with the work in a steadier way.
Session 3: Integration and Q&A
This final session brings the learning together. We’ll answer questions, reflect on what has come up, and help you think about what you want to do with what you’ve learned. This is a chance to integrate, assess, and decide what your next step might be.
What You’ll Walk Away With
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have:
- A clearer understanding of how death conversations affect you.
- A simple tool for staying grounded and contained.
- More language for what you feel and what you need.
- A gentler relationship to the topic of death.
- A sense of whether this is something you want to keep exploring.

Meet Your Facilitators

We are Colleen and Meghan, the Death Besties.
Together, we bring a mix of coaching, lived experience, and psychological insight to this work. Our aim is to create a space where you can feel both held and taught — where you’re not just hearing ideas, but actually learning tools you can use.
We don’t believe you need to become an expert in death to begin the conversation. We believe you need a place to start.
You may also leave with a deeper appreciation for how much power there is in simply beginning.
FAQ
Do I need experience with death planning or grief work?
No. This workshop is designed as a beginning space. You do not need any prior experience.
Will this be too heavy?
We will hold the work carefully and gently. The goal is not to overwhelm you, but to make the topic more approachable.
Is this therapy?
No. This is a workshop with education, reflection, and guided conversation. It is not therapy or a substitute for therapy.
What if I’m not sure I want to be a “death bestie”?
That’s completely okay. You do not need to identify that way to benefit from this workshop. This is for anyone who wants to start the conversation.
Will I need to speak in the group?
You’re welcome to participate in whatever way feels right for you. You can listen, reflect, and share as much or as little as you’d like.
